Funerals

‘Anyone who lives and believes in me will never die’

Loss is painful. Christians around the world and across time believe that human beings were not created to die. Death is part of the broken condition of the world – and God has a plan to heal that brokenness. His plan centres of Jesus Christ – who suffered death himself so that we could step through death into a full and glorious life.

A Christian funeral service reflects both that realism about the present, and that optimism about what Jesus has achieved for anyone who trusts him.

Legally, anyone with a licence can conduct a funeral service. But, if the person you’ve lost knew that Christian hope – or you would just like to know more about the unique character of Christian hope in the face of loss, please come and talk to us. You can Contact Harriet on enchristchurchhwb@gmail.com, or come and join us on a Sunday and meet Jim – the vicar.

A Christian funeral can take place in a church, or in a chapel at a crematorium or cemetry, or simply by the graveside. The first point of contact when organising a funeral would normally be the Funeral Director, but you are welcome to contact us as well.
